Welcome to the third digital edition of 4Corners, a publication of the the global student community at Washington College. In 2016 we joined the 21st century by moving 4Corners online so that we can reach a truly global audience and provide our contributors with more options to express themselves. But no matter the form of expression, the same themes emerge from author to author. All our students, whether international students studying at Washington College or domestic students traveling overseas, learn to appreciate other cultures, gain confidence and experience personal growth by traveling beyond their own national borders.

The Global Education Office (GEO), which oversees the publication of 4Corners, is very proud of the global community on campus.  In the fall semester of 2018, the campus welcomed 18 students from 11 countries, including Germany, Peru, China, Finland, and Morocco. During this same semester, 25 Washington College students traveled to 11 countries including Hong Kong, Spain, France, Ireland, and England.

This small edition was created under the guidance of GEO Assistant Director for Study Abroad, Alex Levy '15 with contributions from Rachel Agyare ‘19 and Nina Black ‘20. We are currently hiring a Student Editor for Spring 2019. We hope you will enjoy browsing GEO's new publication as much as we enjoyed creating it.
